2002:August 21st, Scotland 0 Denmark 1
Berti Vogts' managerial debut at Hampden Park saw his inexperienced side given the runaround by Denmark.
2002:September 9th,Berti's Captain Paul Lambert and midfield partner Barry Ferguson rescue a point and save the blushes as Scotland draw their opening match against the Faroe Islands Faroe islands 2 - 2 Scotland
2002:October 12th,Berti can smile at last as he leads his bravehearts into  victory in Reykjavik,Berti said "I am very happy to come back from Iceland with three points,It was a brilliant game from my team."It was a great win today for Scotland and we are back in the competition". Iceland 0 - 2 Scotland.
2002:October 15th,At last Berti's strike partnership of Stevie Crawford & Stevie Thompson pays off as both get on the scoresheet with Crawford netting a double.Scotland won the friendly against the Canadian National side 3 - 1 at a very noisey Easter Road.Well done boy's.Berti Berti, give us a wave.
2002:November 20th,A water soaked pitch made for a non realistic match in Portugal as our boys lost 2 - 0 in Braga.
2003:Febuary 15th,A few days after Berti's Scottish selection to face Ireland at Hampden Park were beaten 0 - 2,the great man himself branded the players as second class.I bet their confidence is soaring now eh! Berti [more]
2003:Febuary 25th,Berti's Scotland's 'Future Team' were once again denied a win on their travels after being held to a draw by Turkey.[more]
2003:Mar 29th,Kenny Miller and Lee Wilkie opened their international accounts as Scotland won at Hampden Park under Berti Vogts for the first time, beating Iceland 2-1.[more]
2003:April 2nd,Berti's Scotland were sent tumbling to defeat in Kaunas by a soft penalty award which allowed Lithuania to throw European Championship qualifying Group Five wide open.[more]
2003:June 7th,Berti Vogts' side had made a strong start but found themselves unable to shake an annoying habit of conceding an early goal against Germany[more]
2003:Sept 6th,Berti Vogts' side achieved its own target of the day by beating the Faroes at Hampden Park and taking the three points needed to remain realistic challengers.[more]
2003:Sept 10th,Berti Vogts' return to Westfalenstadion,Germany ended in bitter defeat as Scotland ended a bad-tempered game with 10 men.[more]
2003:Sept 11th,Berti Vogts makes the vital substitution that wins Scotland a place in the Euro 2004 play offs. His descision to put on young goalscorer Darren Fletcher wins him the respect of the Nation.Well done Berti,Ya dancer.[more]
2003:Nov 11th,Berti faces the toughest challenge of his Scotland managerial career so far,as he plots the downfall of the mighty Holland for a place in the up and coming Euro 2004 finals in Portugal:Were right behind you Berti,Good luck!.[more]
2003:Nov 13th,Berti knows the pressure is building ahead of the crunch match at Hampden against Holland,so as great coaches do,he calls on the 12th man,[more]
2003:Nov 15th,Berti's managerial professionalism shines through as he takes on Dick Advocaat and the might of 5th ranked Holland.Berti guided his Scottish bravehearts to a memorable 1 - 0 first leg victory over Holland at Hampden Park Glasgow.Berti's own cheeky James McFadden provided the goal after 22mins and the 12th man roared them on for the full 90,Berti Vogts' Tartan Army.
2003:Nov 19th,Berti discovers just how bad it can get at international management level.Scotland suffer the second biggest defeat/humiliation/6 - 0 gubbing of our National history.I wont ridicule Berti over this,as i watched the match and there were players on the park that have to stand up and be honest with themselves.
Proffessional footballers who earn more than than their worth let our coach and supporters down big time. What amazed me was that Berti took the pressure off the players,as after the match he commented on how he was still proud of them.Only a true leader would make a statement like that after his team let him down so badly.Berti Vogts will always have the respect of The Road To Hampden,Scottish National & International Football Website.
2004:Feb 18th
Berti takes the National team to cardiff and lines them up against Wales for the first time in 19yrs for this international friendly match.Wales played Berti's boys off the park and hit 4 goals with nothing in reply.Dissapointing to say the least and very disheartening for the fans who had to endure another humiliation so soon after the previous 6 - 0 gubbing we recieved from the Dutch last November.Rumour has it that Berti may be seeking a new option in player selection by inviting foreigners to apply for Brittish passports and therefore be available to play for our International side.I dont know about that Berti,,better think long and hard as a bad situation may be about to get worse.
2004:May 27th
International double header and Berti has 18 call off's for the first against Estonia who actualy turned up this time. The boss named Darren Fletcher as captain, making him the youngest Scottish skipper since 1886.Cheecky James McFadden got the only goal of the game in the 76th minute.Estonia
0 - 1 Scotland.
2004:August 18th
Oh Berti what can the matter be,I never attended the game and never watched it on TV,but when i heard the final score on the radio on my way home from work i just shook my head and thought oh well what more did i expect.Well the truth is Berti i expected a whole lot better than the worst home walloping weve had at Hampden since 1973.Scotland 0 - 3 Hungary, bring on Slovenia,"i'm not so sure".
2004:September 3rd
Berti and the boys take on the Spanish in yet another International Friendly match. An evening kick off in the Levante stadium,Valencia in front of a mere 15,000 fans and a nervous and anxious support back home watching on tv saw Scotland take the lead through cheecky James McFaddens inswinging free kick diverted into goal by Spanish midfielder Baraja in 18mins.Scotland played with a fighting spirit and determination and would have been two or three goals up early on if big Stevie Crawford had laced his boots up.Spain managed to pull one back through second half sub Raul with a 57th min penalty kick. The match finished after 60mins when the Stadium suffered a power cut and the floodlights failed.Spain 1 - 1 Scotland
2004:September 8th
The start of Scotlands world cup 2006 qualifying games against Slovenia at Hampden Park,Glasgow.Berti Vogts' Scotland failed to silence their critics with a nervous and frustrating goalless opening to our  World Cup qualifying campaign.
Goalkeeper Borut Mavric's superb save prevented a Paul Dickov chip giving Scotland an early lead in a first half dominated by the home side.Scotland failed to break down the Slovenian's and the match finished goalless.Scotland
0 - 0 Slovenia [Group 5 Fixtures / Results / Table / Reports]
2004:October 9th
The venue Hampden Park Stadium Glasgow, world cup qualifying group 5, Scotland v Norway.I'm sorry to say that Berti is now becoming a regular record breaker in the history books of Scottish Football, but for all the wrong reasons as Norway win the match
0 - 1 and Scotland's 19-year unbeaten record at Hampden in World Cup qualifiers is gone.Berti had backed a depleated squad before the match saying that the players available were good enough to win,but that was obviously not to be.Three points are now a must as Scotland travel to Moldova for Wednesday's match in the Republican Stadium, Chisinau which is a 9.00 pm Kick-off.UK Time 7.00pm Live on BBC [Group 5 Fixtures / Results / Table / Reports]
2004:October 13th
Whipping boys 1 - 1 Whipped, Berti vogts and his selection of Scottish hopefuls left a nation of Football fans in tatters after a dismal performance of second rate players in tonights match against 104th placed Moldova.I have never witnessed a more stressful Scotland game and there have been many.My heart went out to the Tartan Army who paid their pounds shillings and pence to travel the miles to support this bunch of chancers.I must add that it makes me sad to talk about the Nation i love in this way,but the truth must be told. The players themselves know that they are not good enough to pull on the jersey but cannot admit this as their club sides would transfer them the first opertunity they got,and the coach,if he is any kind of man at all should step aside and admit that the job is too much for him as an alien to the Scottish culture. This Scottish pool of players is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike,ha ha, i don't think so,i'm more angry than i've ever been after watching my National team made a laughing stock worldwide.Where does the future lye,i dont know, you tell me!!.
2004:November 1st
After continued presure from some sections of Scottish football fans,ex-players and media for the removal of Berti from the managers role, the man himself stepped down and resigned to-day. Read what the man who tried to rebuild our International Football Team from scratch had to say about his decision.
Berti,
From my point of view, the decision has been made with a heavy heart,[report]
