| Website Aims and Ambitions Aim >>> The Road To Hampden is a Scottish Football website, and is run from my home with the sole purpose of promoting Scottish Football's International, Premier & Domestic Leagues / tournaments to the Internet. My main aim is to build the website into something to be proud of and of interest to Football fanatics home and abroad. I am not a web designer but i am learning, and hopefuly end up with a website that visitors will enjoy visiting and come baqck to. I hope that in the publishing of any storylines, no-one will be offended by the content and or accuse the site of showing any bias towards any team / club or Division as i will do my best to cover as many of the issues relating to all of our fine clubs spl, sfl & Juniors. I welcome links and help / information from all sites, Official, Non Official, large or small, as long as they are promoting Scotland's National clubs then their will always be a place for them here. If you happen to come accross any outdated stats on any of the club sections then please e-mail me so that i can put it right. Your help will keep the site up to-date and fresh. Ambition >>> My ambition would be to build this site into a fortress of information & stats on Scottish National and International football. I realise that it will take time which is not a problem as i'm in here for the long haul. Please e-mail with any and all suggestions for new content. | Firstly let me welcome you to the site & the new season, The website has been around now since 1999 and i hope it has been added to favourites on many pc's around the world. I am a sheet metal worker to trade and for 14 years slaved away for my North Lanarkshire employer, Maintainance & Property Care [MPC for short] in the Motherwell area. I myself reside in Bellshill, Scotland and have enjoyed the pleasure for around 15 years now. After having played the game for 35 years at amateur and Junior level i could'nt let go and had to still be involved in some way, so this is it. Going back, the most memorable playing times were spent in the eighties with Third Larark Amateurs [managed by Joe McDonald] & The Vale of Clyde Juniors [managed by Joe McInnes ex-Third Lanark pro], great managers both of them. The site will be updated every evening in some way depending on whats going on and will cover ALL Scottish involvement in Football tournaments. |

| Turning the website into a business : The Scotland Football Shop.co.uk has now been set up and introduced into the website as of today 5th April 2008 at 16.12pm. Here we can offer visitors another hard to find outlet for Scottish Football Gifts. There has been a lack of sites such as this on the internet for Scotland fans, so i have addressed that issue as of now. Hopefuly i can stock with t-shirt, hat, flag and other souvenir type goods. Quality items and fun stuff has been on demand from visitors that unfortunately i have not been able to supply in the past, that has thankfuly now changed. |
| 21st January 2008 The Road To Hampden Makes The National Press, On checking my e-mails one evening i noticed that one amongst the usual multitude stood out. On anticipation i opened the mail to find that it was a request from a media writer showing an interest in the website and it's editor. At first i was cautious as you'll understand, i like the rest of you get loads of crank and junk e-mails dailly. I decided to call the telephone number given as i am generally a nosey bugger and this was bugging me. I had a brief but very pleasant conversation with the well respected media writer Alex Murphy, a freelance journalist for The Times who put my mind at ease as this was a genuine proposal. Alex returned the call some time later and we had a series of questions and answers which having never encountered that kind of experience before, i found very interesting. I'll always be indebted to Alex for showing an interest in what ordinary folk like myself can acheive with determination, grit and a will to succeed.
