MANCHESTER WILL PUT UP SCREENS FOR RANGERS FANS
TENS of thousands of ticketless Rangers fans will be able to watch the Uefa Cup final on big screens when they descend on Manchester.Council chiefs will be showing the match at fan zones at key places in the city centre. The game against Zenit St Petersburg takes place on Thursday, and more than 100,000 Rangers fans are expected to flood the city.Police and the city council previously advised fans not to travel without a ticket. But it has now been confirmed that big outdoor screens would be installed in response to demand from fans.

DUO LEAVING LOVE STREET
St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson has confirmed Ian Maxwell and Richard Brittain will leave the club at the end of the season.The duo were both of out contract at the end of the campaign and MacPherson has opted not to give them new deals.He said: "I've spoken to Ian and Richard and told them we won't be extending their contracts."Maxwell signed for St Mirren from St Johnstone in 2005, while Brittain joined a year later from Livingston.

Gordon Smith does not believe the Scottish Football Association had any other option but to turn down Rangers' request for a postponement. Rangers had wanted to call off their Scottish Premier League clash with Dundee United on Saturday to provide them with a week to prepare for the Uefa Cup final against Zenit St Petersburg. Airdrie striker Allan Russell has turned down several clubs to sign for Kilmarnock.Killie manager Jim Jefferies failed in a bid to sign the 27-year-old in January but will tie up the deal once Airdrie's season is over.Russell headed two goals on Wednesday night to give the Lanarkshire side a 2-0 win at Raith Rovers and put them within touching distance of the Irn-Bru First Division play-off final.
